The NSW public library network is now represented by one statewide body – the New South Wales Public Libraries Association (NSWPLA).
The amalgamation of Public Libraries New South Wales and New South Wales Metropolitan Libraries Association brings a new level of commitment to the public library network. The strengths of the two associations will now be channeled to ensure a vibrant and innovative network of libraries across the state. Delivering the highest standards of service to their communities and working to ensure that the network is sustainable and relevant into the future.
There are 367 public libraries in NSW, with a further 34 satellite locations and 20 mobile libraries servicing small and isolated communities (as at March 2015).
